Hopefully winter is starting to leave in your part of the world (sorry Alberta, I guess you don’t count) but if you’re like some parts of Canada and need some reminder that summer is coming, here’s a nice and fun beach/summer inspired read for you.
Cape Cod Kisses features Shelley and Quinn, two busy and successful people who meet and fall in love in Rockwell Island. Gotta admit, Shelley isn’t my favourite character maybe just because she seemed a bit too unrealistic for me? Not in a bad way, of course, she’s the perfect heroine for a summer read because she’s very optimistic and will just draw you in to read more. I wish I had her courage and her confidence though, that was really impressive.
Quinn Rockwell (yes this is a family saga, I’m so excited) is the first we meet of the Rockwells and he is my catnip, as the ladies over at SBTB would say. I can’t even explain it, but the first few paragraphs when he was being introduced, I was all “yes definitely yes.” Quinn, while being serious and dedicated, was also very sweet and charming and oh man, I was a goner.
Together, Shelley and Quinn are perfect. They definitely balance each other out and their moments together were adorable.
And of course, the Rockwell family. I thought they were all an interesting bunch. I want to know more about what the deal with the grandfather is. I’m also very excited for the next book coming out because yo Trent. I love family sagas.
