Hello and welcome to My Favourite Things: June 2015 Edition! This is a monthly link up that I co-host together with the forever effervescent Raisa! We like to list everything and anything that have captured our hearts for the month and share them with the world.
I don’t even know how to describe June because I was just busy all month long. I’m still busy. I have a break coming up at the end of the month so I’m looking forward to that! (Not looking forward to the 5 projects standing between me and that break though.) At some point, I was seeing mockups and HTML code even with my eyes closed. Oh well, #makingmydreamscometrue or something lol. On to the favourites!
1. Hilary Duff’s Breathe In Breathe Out
A month later and I am STILL SUPER EXCITED about this album. Like in person all-caps and all that. Admittedly, I never liked her previous albums to this degree because back when I was a kid, I wanted to be cool and singing Disney stars were not cool. I can’t even give you a review of the album because I’ve listened to it for almost the whole month and I just love them all. At some point, my Spotify reset its offline settings (as it does at the end of the month for Premium users) and I only had this album playing alongside some other random songs. I didn’t notice until a couple of days later.
My favourite song is Sparks. I just love the lyrics and the beat. Enjoy that fan-requested version with the k-pop-ish dancing.
2. Together by Gwen Stefani feat. Calvin Harris
I’ve had Calvin Harris’ Motion in my Spotify playlist for a long time now, and I’ve started to hear this song more often on the radio so I thought I’d include this here. It’s a nice summery song and Calvin Harris always seems to have one every year.
3. My Favourite Books
Ah yes, behold the covers of indie book publishing. (If you think romance novels have embarassing covers, you haven’t waded deep into the realm of indie book covers. Of any genre tbh.) Regardless of the covers though, these were the books that I loved this month.
I bought way too many books. These books are parts of series and I READ THEM ALL. (Except the Kilt series because I checked myself and realized that this was getting expensive.) I might right a review for these if school schedule permits.
But I have 3 websites to make and counting. So. Maybe not.
PS. these books are super explicit. Like hot sex and all. Also Finding Dandelion deals with cancer so if that makes you sad (I bawled like a baby but I told myself that it helped clear my sinuses).
4. Rizzoli & Isles is Back!
Yay. I love this show and I’m sad that they only air during the spring/summer television season but I will take it! A pair of women kicking ass and solving crime?
5. American Ninja Warrior
THIS GIVES ME ALL THE FEELS. I get so into it watching this show! I’ve discovered this show because I was super bored one day and needed some sort of white noise while I was coding and found this. I didn’t end up finishing what I was coding but I HAD SO MUCH FUN WATCHING THIS SHOW. I’m also super amazed of Kacy Cantazaro! She’s “five foot nothing” and SHE OWNED last year. She fell in this year’s qualifier but the commentators said she can be picked as a wild card? PLEASE LET THAT HAPPEN.
ALSO YES FULL EPISODES ONLINE YESSSSSSSS
