This is the 6th installment in this series and I hate to admit it, but tears happened during this book… I have pages in my copy with dried tear marks.
What I Liked:
Cormia as an individual was quite lovely once she started to come out of her shell… needless to say she made great personal growth over the course of two books… it helped immensely that it was spread out over a period of months.
How certain traditions were disbanded and the Chosen were free to make their own lives instead of being stuck in their roles whether they want them or not.
Phury’s personal growth throughout the book… I must confess that I did not like him at first. I thought for sure he would be in the same category as Vishious and Tohr and that I would not like him, but at the last second he changed my mind.
John Matthew and Cormia’s friendship… it’s always lovely to have a male and a female friendship that is simply friendship.
The romantic relationship growth, it happened slowly and it wasn’t rushed… they did however seem more like friends, but that’s neither here nor there since it’s always fantastic to be friends with ones spouse.
What I Disliked:
Phury in the beginning of this book. It’s pretty difficult to like someone who is trapped in the past and refuses to live in the present until they get a shove.
Their romantic relationship… they just seemed like they would make better friends than mates.(but really what do I know? all my relationships fail horribly. XD)
Phury’s attitude towards people who love him and wish to help him, but I suppose that’s just how addicts act while going through withdrawal. I should probably work on being less picky.
